Agreement to terms
By downloading, installing, or using FlowCursor ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Storybeep UG, a company registered in Germany.
Service description
FlowCursor is a macOS menu bar application that provides:
- AI-powered text explanations.
- Audio transcription from microphone recordings.
The Service requires:
- macOS 14.0 or later.
- Internet connection.
- Apple ID for authentication.
- Accessibility permission for text capture.
- Microphone permission for transcription features.
The FlowCursor website is a landing page and documentation hub for the macOS app. It does not provide a web-based version of the Service.
Account registration
To use FlowCursor, you must authenticate using Sign in with Apple.
- Confirm you are at least 16 years of age.
- Provide accurate authentication information.
- Maintain the security of your account.
- Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.
Subscription terms
Free tier
- 100 requests per day (combined explanations and transcriptions).
- Access to all features.
- Rate limits reset daily at midnight UTC.
Paid subscription (if applicable)
- Plans and pricing are displayed before purchase.
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.
- No refunds for partial subscription periods, except as required by law.
Billing
- You authorize us to charge your payment method for fees.
- Prices may change with 30 days' notice.
- Failed payments may result in service suspension.

Intellectual property
Our property
FlowCursor, including its code, design, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Storybeep UG and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal or internal business purposes.
Your content
You retain ownership of any text or audio you submit to FlowCursor. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service.
AI-generated content
Explanations and transcriptions are produced by third-party AI services. You may use this output for lawful purposes, subject to:
- The terms of the underlying AI providers.
- Applicable intellectual property laws.
- Verification of accuracy before relying on AI output.
Disclaimers
Service provided "as is"
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
AI limitations
- AI output may contain errors or inaccuracies.
- AI output should not be relied upon for professional advice.
- You are responsible for verifying AI-generated content.
Third-party services
- We are not responsible for third-party outages.
- We are not responsible for changes to third-party AI models.
- Third-party privacy practices are governed by their policies.
Limitation of liability
Exclusion of damages
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
- Damages from unauthorized access to your data.
- Damages from third-party service interruptions.
Liability cap
Our total liability for claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.
Exceptions
- Gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Storybeep UG and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights.
Termination
By you
- Uninstall the application.
- Cancel your subscription, if applicable.
- Request account deletion via email.
By us
- Violation of these Terms.
- Suspected fraudulent or illegal activity.
- Required by law.
- Extended periods of inactivity.
- Upon 30 days' notice for any reason.
Effect of termination
- Your license to use FlowCursor ends immediately.
- We may delete your account data.
- Sections that by nature should survive will continue (Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law).
Changes to terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date, displaying a notice in the application, and emailing you for significant changes.
Continued use of FlowCursor after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing law and disputes
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Dispute resolution
- Contact us at martin@generativeai.net to resolve disputes informally.
- If informal resolution fails, parties agree to attempt mediation.
- Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Germany.
EU consumer rights
EU consumers may also submit disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
