Getting Started

Download FlowCursor, grant permissions, and start explaining text instantly.

1. Download and install

  1. Download the latest DMG from the download page.
  2. Open the DMG and double-click FlowCursor.
  3. The app installs to Applications and launches automatically.

2. Grant permissions

FlowCursor asks for these during setup. Accessibility and Input Monitoring are required; the rest improve capture quality.

  • Accessibility: reads the text you select (required).
  • Input Monitoring: global keyboard shortcuts (required).
  • Microphone: voice questions and transcription.
  • Screen Recording: reads on-screen text in apps that block Accessibility.
  • Automation: reads full pages in Safari and Chrome — click Allow when macOS asks.

3. No account needed

FlowCursor works immediately — no sign-up, no sign-in. FlowCursor never stores your text or audio.

4. Try your first explanation

Highlight any sentence, press ⌘2, and FlowCursor will overlay the answer instantly.

Prefer to ask out loud? Press ⌘1 to ask anything about the current page or selection by voice.

System requirements: macOS 26.0 (Tahoe) or later · Apple Silicon or Intel Mac · Internet connection required.
